Dhanteras is also popularly known as Dhantrayodashi and is a very important festival of Hindus. It takes place two days before the festival of Diwali. Dhanteras is the first day of the five-day festival Diwali. It occurs on the thirteenth day of the Krishna Paksha in Kartik month, that is, in October-November.
